摘要 Thelocaldamagessuchasknots,decay,andcrackscanbetranslatedintoareductionofservicelifeduetomechanicalandenvironmentalloadings.Inwoodconstruction,itisveryimportanttoevaluatetheweakestlocationanddetectdamageattheearliestpossiblestagetoavoidthefuturecatastrophicfailure.Inthisstudy,themodaltestingwasoperatedonwoodbeamstogeneratethefirsttwomodeshapes.Anovelstatisticalalgorithmwasproposedtoextractthedamageindicatorbycomputingthemodalflexibilitycurvaturebeforeandafterdamageintimbers.Thedifferentdamageseverities,damagelocations,anddamagecountsweresimulatedbyremovingmassfromintactbeamstoverifythealgorithm.Theresultsshowedthattheproposedstatisticalalgorithmwaseffectiveandsuitabletothedesigneddamagescenarios.Itwasreliabletodetectandlocatelocaldamagesunderdifferentseverities,locations,andcounts.Thepeakvaluesofthedamageindicatorscomputedfromthefirsttwomodeshapesweresensitivetodifferentdamageseveritiesandlocations.Theywerealsoreliabletodetectthemultipledamages.
