Comparative study of honeycomb optimization using Kriging and radial basis function

摘要 Structuraloptimizationforcrashworthinesscriteriaisofparticularsignificanceespeciallyatearlystageofdesign.ThecomparativestudyofKrigingandradialbasisfunctionnetwork(RBFN)wasperformedinordertoimprovethecrashworthinesseffectsofhoneycomb.ImprovingthecrashworthinesscharacteristicofhoneycombwasachievedusingLS-OPTanddomainreductionstrategy.Thisoptimizationisperformedonthebasisofvalidatednumericalsimulationtoestablishtheapproximatedmodeltoillustratetherelationshipbetweentheresponsesanddesignvariables.TheresultsshowedthatKrigingmeta-modelisexcelledinaccuracy,robustnessandefficiencycomparedtoradialbasisfunction(RBF)andcrashworthinesscharacteristicofhoneycombisimprovedby4%.
