摘要 Detailedstudiesofpetrology,palaeocurrentdirection,paiaeogeomorphologyandpalaeohydrody-namicshavebeenconductedforthePermian-TriassicCangfanggouGroupintheforedeepoftheBogdaMountainsinthesoutheasternJunggarBasin,Xinjiang.Sedimentaryenvironmentsandfadesofalluvialfansandpebblybraidedrivers,sandybraidedrivers,meanderingrivers,low-sinuosityrivers,swampsandfresh-waterlakesarerecognizedinthegroup.Climateandtectonicsofsourceareasstronglycontrolledtheevolutionofthesedimentaryenvironmentsandfaciesintheforedeep.TheblockfaultingintheBogdaMountainsincreasedthegroundslope,whichledtoadrasticincreaseinthegrainsizeofthesediments.Humidclimate,beingbeneficialtoplantgrowth,wouldprovideprotectionofchannelbanksandatthesametimeweakenchemicalweatheringinthesourcearea,thuslargeamountsofclaymaterialsareavailablefortheformationofclayplugs.Asaresult,stablebanksandmeanderingriverbeltsare
