摘要
TheCMSIGUANAprojecthasimplementedanopenanalysisarchitecturethatenablesthecreationofanintegratedanalysisenvironment.Inthis"analysisdesktop"environmentaphysicistisabletoperformmostanalysis-relatedtasks,notjustthepresentationandvisualisationstepsusuallyassociatedwithanalysistools.ThemotivationbehindIGUANA'sapproachisthatphsicsanalysisincludesmuchmorethanjustthevisualisationanddatapresentation.Manyfactorscontributetotheincreasingimportanceofmakinganalysisandvisualisationsoftwareanintegralpartoftheexperiment'ssoftware:objectorientedandevermoreadvanceddatamodels,GRID,andautomatedhierarchicalstoragemanagementsystemstonamejustafew.Atthesametimetheanalysistoolkitsshouldbemodularandnon-invasivetobeusableindifferentcontextswithinoneexperimentandgenerallyacrossexperiments.Ideallytheanalysisenvironmentwouldappeartobeperfectlycustomisedtotheexperimentandthecontext,butwouldmostlyconsistofgenericcomponents.WedescribehowtheIGUANAprojectisaddressingtheseissuesandpresentboththearchitectureandexamplesofhowdifferentaspectsofanalysisappeartotheusersandthedevelopers.
