SIMULATION OF POLLUTANTS IN RIVER SYSTEMS USING FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD

摘要 Thispaperusingfinitedifferenceschemeforthenumericalsolutionofadvection-dispersionequationdevelopsaone-dimensionalwaterqualitymodel.ThemodelalgorithmhassomemodificationoverothersteadystatemodelsincludingQUAL2E,whichhavebeenusedsteadystateimplementationofimplicitbackward-differencenumericalscheme.Thecomputerprograminthedevelopedmodelcontainsaspecialunsteadystateimplementationoffourpointimplicitupwindnumericalschemesusingdoublesweepmethod.Thesuperiorityofthismethodinthemodelingprocedureresultsthesimulationefficacyundersimplifiedconditionsofeffluentdischargefrompointandnon-pointsources.Themodelishelpfulforeyeviewassessmentofdegreeofinteractionbetweenmodelvariablesforstrategicplanningpurposes.ThemodelhasbeenappliedforthewaterqualitysimulationoftheHanjiangRiverbasinusingflowcomputationmodel.Modelsimulationresultshaveshownthepollutantsprediction,dispersionandimpactontheexistingwaterquality.Modeltestshowsthemodelvaliditycomparingwithothersophisticatedmodels.Sensitivityanalysiswasperformedtooverviewthemostsensitiveparametersfollowedbycalibrationandverificationprocess.
