Thenon-minimumphasefeatureoftail-controlledmissileairframesisanalyzed.Threeselectionstrategiesfordesiredperformanceindexesarepresented.Anaccelerationautopilotdesignmethodologybasedonoutputfeedbackandoptimizationisproposed.Performanceandrobustnesscomparisonsbetweenthetwo-loopandclassicalthree-looptopologiesaremade.Attemptstoimprovetheclassicalthree-looptopologyarediscussed.Despitethesameopen-loopstructure,theclassicalthree-loopautopilotshowsdistinctcharacteristicsfromatwo-loopautopilotwithPIcompensator.Boththetwo-loopandthree-looptopologiescanstabilizeastaticunstablemissile.However,thefiniteactuatorresourceisthecrucialfactordominatingautopilotfunction.
