简介:Thispaperpresentsasemi-empiricallumpedparametermodeldevelopedforanalysingthedynamicstabilityandperformancelimitationsofapressurecompensatedvanepumpforanautomotiveapplicationwithlow-costcomponents.Themodelcalculatescontinuousdisplacementchamberpressureprofilesandinertialeffectsforthedeterminationoftheinternalforcesactingonthevanepump'spivotingcam.Measurementsconductedonacustomteststandwereusedtodefineanonlinearlyprogressivebiasspringmodelandablackboxrepresentationofthepumpcontrolsystemvalves.Analysisofthecompletemodelrevealsthattheperformancelimitationsimposedbythecontrolsystemvalves,intermsofsystemstabilityandachievablecontrollerbandwidth,aremorerestrictivethanthelimitationsimposedbythelow-costvanepumpandlimitthethatbandwidthto1.84Hz.Thecontrolsystemalsoimposeslimitationstothesystemperformancebasedonresonancephenomenawhichmaybesignificantinsomeapplications.
