简介：Surfacequalityhasbeenoneofthekeyfactorsinfluencingtheongoingimprovementofthequalityofsteel.Therefore,itisurgenttoprovidemethodsforefficientsupervisionofsurfacedefects.Thispaperfirstexpressedthemainproblemsexistingindefectmanagementandthenfocusedonconstructingadataplatformofsurfacedefectmanagementusingamultidimensionaldatabase.Finally,someon-lineapplicationsoftheplatformatBaosteelweredemonstrated.Resultsshowthattheconstructedmultidimensionaldatabaseprovidesmorestructureddefectdata,andthusitissuitableforswiftandmulti-angleanalysisofthedefectdata.
