  • 简介:Inthispaper,weproposedawaytorealizeanEr-dopedrandomfiberlaser(RFL)withadisorderedfiberBragggrating(FBG)array,aswellastocontrolthelasingmodeoftheRFLbyheatingspecificlocationsofthedisorderedFBGarray.ThedisorderedFBGarrayperformsasboththegainmediumandrandomdistributedreflectors,whichtogetherwithatunablepointreflectorformtheRFL.Coherentmulti-moderandomlasingisobtainedwithathresholdofbetween7.5and10mWandapowerefficiencybetween23%and27%whenthereflectivityofthepointreflectorchangesfrom4%to50%.Tocontrolthelasingmodeofrandomemission,aspecificpointofthedisorderedFBGarrayisheatedsoastoshiftthewavelengthoftheFBG(s)atthispointawayfromtheotherFBGs.Thus,differentresonancecavitiesareformed,andthelasingmodecanbecontrolledbychangingthelocationoftheheatingpoint.

  • 简介:Inthispaper,Er/Ybco-dopedfiberamplifiers(EYDFAs)withanYb-bandfiberBragggrating(FBG)atthepumpendtoimprovetheperformanceoftheamplifierissystematicallystudied.TheinfluenceofthereflectivityandcenterwavelengthoftheFBGalongwiththegain-fiberlengthontheperformanceofanEYDFAarenumericallyanalyzed.TheresultsshowthatthewavelengthoftheFBGhascriticalinfluenceontheefficiencyoftheEYDFA,whereastherequirementtoitsreflectivityisrelaxed.Itisaneffectiveandpromisingwaytoimprovetheefficiencyofahigh-powerpumpedEYDFAbyintroducingasuitableYb-bandFBGatthepumpend.Basedontheanalysisoftheunderlyingprinciples,suggestionsforthepracticaldesignandpossiblefurtherimprovementstrategiesarealsoproposed.
