简介:Coremodecutoffisausefulconceptnotonlyforataperedsingle-corefiber(SCF)butalsoforataperedmulticorefiber(MCF)torealizecladdingmodetransmission.Inthispaper,cut-offconditionsofeithercoremodefortaperedSCFsorsupermodesforMCFsaretheoreticallyinvestigated.RigorousanalyticalformulasarederivedforthemodesofSCFbyathree-layerwaveguidemodel,andanapproximationformulaofthecut-offconditionisgivenfortheLP01mode.ThesupermodesofMCFsareanalyzedbythecouplingmodetheory,andthecut-offconditioniscalculatedbyanumericalmethod.Simulationresultsshowthatthein-phasesupermodeofMCFshasasimilarcut-offconditionwiththatofSCF.Basedonthisproperty,aconvenientapproximateformulaisgiventoestimatethecut-offconditionofthein-phasesupermodefortaperedMCFs.
