简介:Theself-extinguishingbehaviorofkerosenesprayfirewasinvestigatedinacompletelyenclosedcompartmentwiththesizeof3m×3m×3.4m.ThespraywasgeneratedbylocatingoneBETEnozzleatthecenterofthebottomwall.AseriesofsprayfirevideoswereobtainedbychangingBETEnozzletypeandinjectingpressure.Theresultsshowthatsprayfireundergoesfourstages:thegrowthstage,thequasi-steadystage,thestretchstageandtheself-extinguishingstage.Consumptionoflargequantitiesofoxygencausessprayfiretofirstbestretchedandthenquench.Inthisprocess,firebasemigratesawayfromsprayregionandleadstotheemergenceofghostingfire.Ghostingfirepromotestheinstabilityofsprayfireandlargefluctuationofitsheight,whichprovideshelptoitsself-extinguishing.Withincreasingtheinjectingpressureorthenozzlediameter,theself-extinguishingtimedecreases.Itisfoundthattheself-extinguishingtimeisapproximatelyininverserelationwithinjectingflowrate.Additionally,wealsoobservedtheoccurrenceoftwo-phasedeflagrationjustafterignition,anditacceleratesthesprayfiregrowthandinducesalargerfireheightthanthefollowingquasi-steadysprayfire.Thedeflagrationturnsstrongerwithincreasingtheinjectingpressure.
