简介:Anewmethodisproposedforsynthesizingintermediateviewsfromapairofstereoscopicimages.Inordertosynthesizehigh-qualityintermediateviews,theblockmatchingmethodtogetherwithasimplifiedmulti-windowtechniqueanddynamicprogrammingisusedintheprocessofdisparityestimation.Thenocclusiondetectionisperformedtolocateoccludedregionsandtheirdisparitiesarecompensated.Aftertheprojectonoftheleft-to-rightandright-to-leftdisparitiesontotheintermediateimage,intermediateviewissynthesizedconsideringoccludedregions.Experimentalresultsshowthatoursynthesismethodcanobtainintermediateviewswithhigherquality.

简介:Intermediatefilamentsareoneofthekeycomponentsofthecytoskeletonineukaryoticcells,andtheirmechanicalpropertiesarefoundtobeequallyimportantforphysiologicalfunctionanddisease.Whilethemechanicalpropertiesofsinglefulllengthfilamentshavebeenstudied,howthemechanicalpropertiesofcrosslinksaffectthemechanicalpropertyoftheintermediatefilamentnetworkisnotwellunderstood.Thispaperappliesamesoscopicmodeloftheintermediatenetworkwithvariedcrosslinkstrengthstoinvestigateitsfailuremechanismundertheextrememechanicalloading.Itfindsthatrelativelyweakercrosslinksleadtoamoreflawtolerantintermediatefilamentnetworkthatisalso23%strongerthantheonewithstrongcrosslinks.Thesefindingssuggestthatthemechanicalpropertiesofinterfacialcomponentsarecriticalforbioinspireddesignswhichprovideintriguingmechanicalproperties.
