End-to-end utility-based resource allocation for multi-RAT nodes in heterogeneous cognitive wireless networks

Thispaperstudiestheproblemofeffectiveresourceallocationformulti-radioaccesstechnologies(Multi-RAT)nodesinheterogeneouscognitivewirelessnetworks(HCWNs).End-to-endutility,whichisdefinedasthedelayofend-to-endcommunication,istakenintoaccountinthispaper.InthescenarioofHCWNs,itisassumedthatthecognitiveradionodeshavetheabilityofMulti-RATandcancommunicatewitheachotherthroughdifferentpathssimultaneouslybysplittingthearrivalpackets.Inthispaper,theproblemisformulatedastheoptimizationofsplitratioandpowerallocationofthesourcecognitiveradionodetominimizethedelayofend-to-endcommunication,andalowcomplexitystep-by-stepiterativealgorithmisproposed.Numericalresultsshowgoodperformanceoftheproposedalgorithmovertwootherconventionalalgorithms.
