TheDNA-dependentproteinkinasecatalyticsubunit(DNA-PKcs)playsamajorroleinDNAdamagesignalingandrepair,andisalsofrequentlyover-expressedintumormetastasis.WeusedisogeniccelllinesexpressingdifferentlevelsofDNA-PKcstoinvestigatetheroleofDNA-PKcsinmetastaticdevelopment.Interestingly,ourresultsshowedthatX-rayirradiationinducedthemetastasisofDNA-PKcspositive(M059K)butnotnegative(M059J)cells;however,genisteincouldsuppresstheradiation-inducedmetastaticpotentialofM059Kcells(Fig.1).Theconcretemechanismsunderlyingthisphenomenonwillbeinvestigatednextyear.
