Thispaperpresentsaweb-basedsystemtopredicttheelectricityprices.Theproposedsystemcapturesthegeographicallocation,weatherforecast,andoilpriceforoneweekahead.Thecapturedparametersarefedtoafuzzy-logic-basedalgorithmtocalculateelectricenergyprices.Basedonpredictedelectricityprices,consumerscanturnON/OFForrescheduleoperationsoftheirhomeappliancestoreducetheirelectricitybill.Theproposedalgorithmwasdevelopedandhostedinautilityserver(U-server).Ontheconsumerside,ahomegateway(H-gateway),andamonitoringandcontrolsystemwasdesigned,built,andtestedbyusingasinglechipmicrocontroller.
