Possibilitiesforenhancementofcatalyticreactionratebycombiningphasetransfercatalysisandhydrogenbondingofthecatalystwiththesubstrateandreagentwerestudied.Aphasetransfercatalystlibrarywithsixtypolystyrene-supportedquaternaryammoniumsaltcatalystswassynthesized.ThereductionofacetophenonebyNaBH4wasusedastheprobingreactiontoselectouttheostactivecatalystinthelibrarybyusingiterativemethod.whichwasthegel-typetriethanolamineaminsatingstronglyasicanionexchangeresinwiththecrosslinkingdegereeof2%Ahydrogenbondingassistedcatalyticmechanismwasproposedtoexplainthehighcatalyticactivityofthecatalyst.
