Alargenumberofplantremainswerediscoveredintheancient-woodslayerofZhujiajianIsland,ZhejiangProvince.Thereweresomethicktrunks,completelaminas,fruit,seedsandsoon.Accordingtoradiocarbontestsconductedforplantremains,theancient-woodslayerhasbeendatedbacktoabout8750-6200years,andthevegetationwasasubtropicalevergreenanddeciduousbroad-leavedmixedforestsontheislandinthepast.Inthemiddleoftheancient-woodslayer,twograinsofwildricewereexploredaccidentally,whichareOryzarufipogon,alongwiththefruitandseedsofsomewaterplants,suchasCeratophyllumdcmcrsum,C.oryzetoum,Euryalefetox,Trapaincisavar.quadricaudata,Scirpusyagaraandsoon.Theremightbemarshysoilandapondinancientforestvegetationfromwherethegrainsofwildriceandhydrophyticfruitwerefound.ItisoftremendousimportancetostudytheoriginofwildriceinChina.
