AdualSshapedmicrostripantennawitharealisticfeedisproposedforgenerationoftiltedbeamradiationpatternpertainingforbeamsteeringapplications.Toachievethis,fourfeedingpointsarelocatedatadistanceof5.6mmfromtheantennacentre.Thesefeedingpointswhenexcitedonebyonegeneratefourtiltedbeamsinfourdifferentspacequadrants,thusyieldingabeamsteerableantenna.Importantly,sincetheproposedantennaissymmetricalinthestructure,allthefourtiltedbeamshavethesameradiationpatterncharacteristics.Afurtherenhancementoftheantennabandwidthisalsoachievedusing100-μmcapacitivecouplingbetweenthefeedandtheantennastrip.
