简介:Weinvestigatetheeffectsofspontaneouslygeneratedcoherence(SGC)onboththesteadyandtransientgainpropertiesinafour-levelinverted-Y-typeatomicsysteminthepresenceofaweakprobe,twostrongcoherentfields,andanincoherentpump.Forthesteadyprocess,wefindthattheinversionlessgainmainlyoriginsfromSGC.Inparticular,wecanmodulatetheinversionlessgainbychangingtherelativephasebetweenthetwofields.Moreover,theamplitudeofthegainpeakcanbeenhancedandtheadditionalgainpeakcanappearbychangingthedetuningofthecouplingfield.Asforthetransientprocess,thetransientgainpropertiescanalsobedramaticallyaffectedbytheSGC.ComparedtothecasewithoutSGC,thetransientgaincanbegreatlyenhancedwithcompletelyeliminatedtransientabsorptionbychoosingtheproperrelativephasebetweenthetwofields.Andtheinverted-Y-typesystemwithSGCcanbesimulatedinbothatomicandsemiconductorquantumwellsystemsavoidingtheconditionsofSGC.
简介:Twocoupled-modemethods,namelyDGMCM(Direct-Global-MatrixCoupledModeMethod)andCCMM(ConsistentCoupled-ModeMethod),areanalyzedandcompared.First,bothofthesetwomethodsprovidetwo-waysolutions,andhencetheyareaccuratemodels.Second、theseriesoflocalverticalmodesinDGMCMconvergesasfastasthatinCCMM,whereasDGMCMhasamoretolerablerequirementofthenumberofsegmentsthanCCMM.Third,thesetwomodelsobtainthefieldsolutionbysolvingthecoupled-modesystemwithdifferentcoefficientmatrices,inwhichthecomputationaletfortfortherequiredparametersisalmostthesame.Finally,DGMCMcanhandlesomeproblemswhicharedifficultforCCMM,suchasinawaveguidewitharoughbottom,alinesourcelocatedrightontopofaslopingbottom,orinthepresenceofmultiplesources.InDGMCM,closed-formexpressionsforcouplingmatricesinatwo-layerwaveguidearegiven.Inaddition.theformulationfortheline-sourceprobleminplanegeometryisderivedtoupdateCCMM.
简介:Weinvestigatespontaneousemissionpropertiesandcontrolofthezerophononline(ZPL)fromadiamondnitrogen–vacancy(NV)centercoherentlydrivenbyasingleellipticallypolarizedcontrolfield.WeusetheSchr¨odingerequationtocalculatetheprobabilityamplitudesofthewavefunctionofthecoupledsystemandderiveanalyticalexpressionsofthespontaneousemissionspectra.Thenumericalresultsshowthatafewinterestingphenomenasuchasenhancement,narrowing,suppression,andquenchingoftheZPLspontaneousemissioncanberealizedbymodulatingthepolarizationdependentphase,theZeemanshift,andtheintensityofthecontrolfieldinoursystem.Inthedressed-statepictureofthecontrolfield,wefindthatmultiplespontaneouslygeneratedcoherencearisesduetothreeclose-lyingstatesdecayingtothesamestate.Theseresultsareusefulinrealexperiments.
